About the Film

The short above is just a glimpse into the world of Green Ferocious, a planned feature film by Mitchel McKenzie and Aaron Silverstein. It is the darkly comedic, violent, and at times, heartfelt tale of an unlikely duo, Simon Greenwald - an unsatisfied and often downcast advertising employee who makes a living developing marketing schemes for any number of asinine products, and Ezekiel, the wildly deranged and unnecessarily militant janitor who works (and lives) at Simon's office building. After a few uncomfortable drinks at a neighborhood bar, the two find themselves in a world of trouble when they discover the dead body of a local criminal has been dumped in Simon's car. With this discovery, Simon and Ezekiel are immediately thrust into the middle of a dangerous war erupting between two local crime syndicates. Bound by fear, paranoia, and varying degrees of stupidity, the two must scrap to find their way to safety and prove their innocence against the looming threats of crime lords, the police, a henchman named “Barracuda”, archers, giant spinning menorahs, women, and a haughty restaurant entrepreneur named Hamburger Hal.

Our Vision

The scope of Green Ferocious is certainly not small. Over the course of the film we meet over 25 characters, visit more than 10 diverse locations, and experience several exciting action sequences. That said, we’ve written it in such a way that it can be made on a fairly modest budget. Our ultimate goal is to make a film that looks like a million bucks, but only cost a small fraction of that to make. For years now we’ve made short films with little to no money and through these experiences we’ve learned to do a lot with a little by handling each aspect of the filmmaking process ourselves. This includes doing our own editing, music, sound work, and effects as well as developing our own marketing materials (one sheets, websites, etc). We plan on bringing this do-it-yourself mentality to Green Ferocious by utilizing a small but effective crew and adopting a fast-paced shooting style. This will allow us to cut down on many of the costs typically associated with delivering a complete and well-packaged feature film.

Make it Happen

While we plan on keeping our budget modest, we’re still going to need some help putting together the funds to make this film happen. You can help, whether you’d like to become an official financer by investing in the film, or by simply making a small donation. We are offering a Special Thanks credit to anyone who donates $25 or more. If you don’t have any money to spare and would still like to help, that’s great too – share this site with your friends, post it on Facebook or Twitter. Getting the word out is a huge help!
